Caring for NuuMed Saddlepad and Numnah
- Following use, let your saddlepad or numnah dry naturally and brush off surplus dirt and loose hair with a stiff brush
- If your saddle pad needs washing, put it into a washing machine and select the wool wash (no more than 40 degrees) and add NuuWash – our specially created washing liquid.
- Always use a non-biological washing liquid and never a powder or bleaching agent. The enzymes in biological liquids break the wool protein down, powders can remain in the wool causing irritation and bleaching agents can react with your horse’s skin.
- When the wash is completed let your saddlepad or numnah hang out to dry naturally – no hairdryers, direct heat or sunlight!
- When dry, if it is wool product, carefully brush the wool using a NuuMed wool comb or stiff brush.

These are fantastic saddle pads that are specifically designed for endurance horses. The shaped ‘high wither’ prevents unwanted pressure on the wither and allows for excellent airflow. The fleece is excellent quality and washes really well. To keep them like new, I recommend hand washing with a wool wash. That said, my older training pads do wash beautifully on a wool cycle in the machine. Highly recommended.
